Banks will remain closed on Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima in states such as Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, New Delhi, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar.
While the banks will be shut, customers can transact anytime using online bank services such as UPI, net banking and mobile banking. ATMs will continue to operate as usual.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar list, the other bank holidays in November 2024 are November 17 (Sunday), November 18 (Kanakadasa Jayanti will be celebrated in Karnataka), November 23 (Fourth Saturday) and November 24 (Sunday).
Stock Exchanges—the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE—will remain shut for trading on Friday.
On Friday, no trading will occur in the morning session (9 am to 5 pm) in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). However, the exchange will remain open for evening session (5 pm to 9 pm). National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd (NCDEX) will be closed for trading.
Schools, educational institutions and government offices in many states and union territories (UTs) will mark a holiday on November 15. Many private organisations will also remain shut.
