Bollywood star Akshay Kumar sells Mumbai's Sky City apartment for ₹4.25 crore: Square Yards

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has sold his apartment in Borivali East, Mumbai, for ₹4.25 crore, according to real estate consultancy Square Yards.

The property is situated in Sky City, developed by Oberoi Realty and spread across 25 acres.

Citing property registration documents, Square Yards said the apartment was originally purchased by Kumar in November 2017 for ₹2.38 crore. The recent sale indicates a 78% appreciation in value over the seven-year period.

"An apartment purchased by Kumar in November 2017 for ₹2.38 crore was recently sold for ₹4.25 crore, reflecting a 78 per cent appreciation in value," Square Yards said.

The apartment has 1,073 sq ft of carpet area and comes with two car parking spaces.

The transaction incurred a stamp duty payment of Rs 25.5 lakh and registration charges of Rs 30,000, the consultant added.

Amitabh Bachchan sells Oshiwara duplex

Kumar's apartment sale comes amid some high-value real estate transactions by Bollywood stars in Mumbai.

Earlier this month, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan sold his duplex apartment in Oshiwara for ₹83 crore.

The property, spanning a carpet area of over 5,185 sq ft with a terrace and six mechanised car parking spaces, was purchased in 2021 for ₹31 crore.

Varun Dhawan buys two luxury flats

Dhawan acquired both apartments within the same residential project.

"He purchased one property on the 6th floor in collaboration with his mother, Karuna David Dhawan, and another on the 7th floor with his wife, Natasha. The combined total of both acquisitions amounts to Rs 86.92 crore," Square Yards said in a statement.

The apartments are in Twenty by D'DECOR, a premium residential project in Juhu, known for its serene beaches, high-profile celebrity residences, and vibrant lifestyle, the consultant said.
