Post Office Savings Account: Now apply for personalised cheque books online via netbanking

Post Office account holders can now submit a request for personalised cheque books through net banking, according to an official order of the Department of Posts dated July 18, 2026.

"lt is to inform that the facility for submission of Personalized Cheque Book (PCB) requests through Post Office internet banking has now been made available and will be operational w.e.f. 18.07.2026," Department of Posts said.

With the start of this facility, Post Office Savings Account (POSA) customers having access to internet banking will be able to request online for the issuance of personalised cheque book without visiting the post office, it added.

Earlier, customers could request of personalised cheque books only at post office counters. Now, they will be able to place a personalised cheque book request through e-Banking (internet banking) without visiting a post office.

With this facility, POSA customers can have their names preprinted on the cheque leaves. The cheque book is also delivered free of cost to the registered address of the primary account holder.

• No charges up to 10 cheque leaves per calendar year.

• After 10 cheque leaves, a charge of ₹2 per cheque leaf will be levied and debited from the selected savings account at the time the request is placed.

After the above step, a confirmation page will display the account holder’s name to be printed on the cheque leaves, address to which the cheque book will be dispatched, account type, joint account holder's name (in the case of joint accounts), request date, and registered mobile number. The user will be required to enter the transaction password to authenticate and confirm the request.
