Income tax calculator for Assessment Year (AY) 2025-26: As the Budget speech on February 1, 2025, approaches, salaried individuals are eagerly anticipating income tax rebates. In recent weeks, several reports and experts have suggested that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may adjust income-tax slabs and rates under the new tax regime to make it more attractive for individual taxpayers.
Such changes could increase disposable income and boost consumption in the economy. However, any tax-related changes in Budget 2025 would be effective for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27).

Meanwhile, salaried and other individual taxpayers, whose accounts don't need to be audited, will file their income-tax returns (ITR) for the financial year 2024-25 or AY 2025-26 this year, starting from mid of June. The due date of ITR filing for such taxpayers is July 31, 2025.

This article gives an overview of how incomes between ₹10 lakh to ₹50 lakh are currently taxed under the new regime. You can also calculate your tax liability for FY 2024-25 by using the following income-tax calculator.
