HDFC Mutual Fund lowers minimum instant redemption limit for liquid and overnight schemes

HDFC Mutual Fund has changed the minimum instant redemption amount from its liquid and overnight schemes. Under the 'Instant Access Facility', investors will now be allowed to withdraw as low as ₹50 from HDFC Liquid Fund and HDFC Overnight Fund with effect from January 15, 2026. The earlier minimum redemption limit under this facility was ₹5000.

The maximum daily redemption allowed under the instant access facility is ₹50,000 or 90% of the latest value of investment in the scheme, whichever is lower, according to information available on the HDFC Mutual Fund's website at the time of writing.

HDFC Liquid Fund is an open-ended Liquid scheme, which aims to invest in debt and money market instruments with residual maturity not exceeding 91 days.

HDFC Overnight Fund is an open-ended debt scheme investing in overnight securities. It aims to generate returns by investing in debt and money market instruments with overnight maturity.

What the AMC said

On January 8, 2026, the HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC) announced an addendum to the Scheme Information Documents (SIDs) / Key Information Memorandums (KIMs) of liquid and overnight schemes and the Schemes and Statement of Additional Information (SAI) of HDFC Mutual Fund.

"HDFC Mutual Fund has informed that the Minimum Redemption Amount under ‘Instant Access Facility’ of HDFC Liquid Fund and HDFC Overnight Fund (‘the Schemes’) of HDFC Mutual Fund, shall stand revised from ‘Minimum IAF request amount shall be Rs 5,000/-’ to ‘Minimum IAF request amount shall be Rs 50/-’ with effect from January 15, 2026 (‘Effective Date’)," the AMC said.

Please note that all other terms and conditions of both schemes will remain unchanged.
