HDFC Flexi Cap Fund's manager changed: All you need to know

"HDFC Mutual Fund has informed that, Amit Ganatra has been appointed as Senior Member – Investment (Equity) of HDFC AMC with effect from January 28, 2026 and is a Key Personnel of AMC. He will be re-designated as ‘Senior Fund Manager - Equities’ with effect from February 01, 2026 (‘Effective Date’)," HDFC AMC said in a notice-cum-addendum.

"Further, Fund Manager of HDFC Flexi Cap Fund shall stand revised from ‘Chirag Setalvad’ to ‘Amit Ganatra’ and Fund Manager of HDFC Focused Fund shall stand revised from ‘Gopal Agrawal’ to ‘Amit Ganatra’ with effect from February 01, 2026. Dhruv Muchhal is the dedicated Fund Manager for Overseas Investments," it said.

Who is Amit Gantara?

As per details shared by the AMC, Amit Ganatra (45 yrs), holds a Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute, USA.

Before joining HDFC Asset Management Company, Mr Ganatra worked with Invesco India Asset Management as Director & Head – Equities (January 17, 2022 to January 27, 2026), HDFC Asset Management Company as Senior Fund Manager - Equity (May 19, 2020 to January 14, 2022) and Invesco Asset Management (India) as Fund Manager - Equity (January 2, 2007 to May 18, 2020).

HDFC Flexi Cap Fund is one of the largest flexi-cap schemes, with an AUM of over ₹97,000 crore. It is second largest flexi-cap scheme in terms of AUM after Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, which has an AUM of ₹1.3 lakh crore as of January 29, 2026.
