SBI Card fees and charges to change from November 1 on select transactions; check details

SBI Card revised fees 2025, SBI credit card charges update

SBI Card, starting September 1, also discontinued the accrual of reward points on certain spends for some cards.

Starting from November, SBI Card will levy revised fees and charges on various transactions. As per a notice by the credit card company, the new charges on select transactions will be applicable from November 1, 2025.

If you’re an SBI cardholder, check the updated charges and read the details carefully to avoid any unexpected deductions or mismatches later.

Here are the updated fees and charges:

SBI Card revised fees and charges

Education payments: A 1% fee of the transaction amount will be applicable on education payments made through third-party apps, such as CRED and MobiKwik. However, if you make payments directly to colleges or schools using the card on their websites or Point of Sales (POS) machines, no fees would be applicable.
Wallet load: A 1% of the transaction amount would be levied on every wallet load transaction exceeding ₹1,000.

Other charges

SBI Card has some other charges and fees for many transactions and services:

  • A ₹250 fee per transaction on cash payments at SBI counters. Up to ₹49,999 cash payment is allowed per transaction.

  • For cheque payments, a charge of ₹200 is levied.

  • If your payment gets dishonored, a dishonor fee of 2% of the payment amount (minimum ₹500) will be applicable.

  • On cash advances (withdrawing cash through a credit card), at SBI ATMs and other domestic ATMs, a fee of 2.5% of the transaction amount (minimum ₹500) would be levied.

  • For card replacement, you’ll have to pay a charge ranging from ₹100 to ₹250 (depending on the card). For Aurum cards, the fee is ₹1,500.

There are also late payment charges if the Minimum Amount Due (MAD) is not paid by the due date, going up to ₹1,300. Further, an additional fee of ₹100 will be levied if the Minimum Amount Due (MAD) is not paid by the due date for two billing cycles straight, and will continue to be applicable until MAD is paid.

Also, SBI Card, starting September 1, discontinued the accrual of reward points on certain spends for some cards. Further, it also discontinued complimentary Air Accident insurance coverage of ₹1 crore on SBI Card Elite, SBI Card Miles Elite and SBI Card Miles Prime from July 15.
