Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday (April 8, 2025) said Aadhaar verification will become as simple as making UPI payment with the new Aadhaar app.
"Aadhaar verification becomes as simple as making UPI payment. Users can now digitally verify and share their Aadhaar details while ensuring their privacy," he said on X.

Users can simply scan a QR code or use the requesting application for Aadhaar verification with the new app.
The new app will also end the need for scanned or printed copies of Aadhaar. "With the new Aadhaar app, users no longer need to get their Aadhaar scanned or photocopied."
The new app will be 100% digital and secure. The minister said users will no longer need to hand over an Aadhaar photocopy at hotel receptions, shops, or during travel. "The Aadhaar App is secure and shareable only with the user's consent."
Vaishnav said that the new app will protect against forgery or editing (like photoshopping your Aadhaar). It will also provide strong privacy and "no more misuse or leaks of Aadhaar data."
The new app will be available to all users soon. The ministry said it has been currently released for a small group of users, including all the registered participants of third episode of Aadhaar Samvaad series in New Delhi on Tuesday.
