If you hold a Post Office Savings Account (POSA) and use a Post Office ATM card for withdrawals or other transactions, you will incur additional charges for financial and non-financial transactions beyond the free limit at other bank ATMs. The revised charges for Post Office ATM card users at other banks' ATMs are applicable from November 1, 2025.

However, there is no change in charges for transactions at Post Office ATMs using your Post Office ATM card. This article explains the revised charges for withdrawals and other transactions applicable from November 2025:

Post Office ATM Card: Latest transaction charges

According to a circular of the Department of Posts dated October 30, 2025, the following charges apply for various transactions at ATM outlets using the Post Office ATM card.

Charges for transactions at other bank ATMs

Post Office ATM card users can make three free financial and non-financial transactions at other banks' ATMs in metro cities. They are also allowed five free financial and non-financial transactions in other bank ATMs in non-metro cities.

Beyond the free transactions, Post Office ATM card users will now have to pay ₹23 plus GST for every financial transaction and ₹11 plus GST for non-financial transactions.

Earlier, the charge for financial transactions at other banks' ATMs beyond the free limit was ₹20 plus GST. Similarly, the charge for non-financial transactions beyond the free limit at other bank ATMs was ₹8 plus GST.

Charges for transactions at Post Office ATMs

There is no change in charges for financial and non-financial transactions at ATMs run by the Department of Posts.

At Post Office ATMs, Post Office ATM card holders are allowed five free financial transactions and non-financial transactions each.

A charge of ₹10 plus GST applies to financial transactions beyond the free limit. Similarly, for non-financial transactions, users have to pay ₹5 plus GST beyond the free limit.
