How to download and submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra (Life Certificate) online from home

Jeevan Pramaan Patra, or Life Certificate, is needed every year for withdrawing pension. Pensioners need to submit their Digital Life Certificate (DSC) to disbursing banks, post offices, Common Service Centres (CSCs) or EPFO offices to get their funds. Further, it is valid only for a year from the date of submission.

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made it easy for its members to submit their DSCs digitally from the comfort of their homes.

“Get your Jeevan Pramaan Patra (Life Certificate) without stepping out! Face Authentication Technology on your phone makes it fast, easy and hassle-free,” the EPFO said in a social media post on X recently. The PF organisation also shared a YouTube video with simple steps detailing how subscribers can download and submit their Jeevan Pramaan Patra online.

How to download Jeevan Pramaan Patra online

For the longest time, it has been a major issue for members to go to specific offices to submit their Life Certificates. This causes inconvenience and delays for senior citizens and disabled members.

To do this online, you must have a smartphone with a camera of at least 5 MP and an internet connection. Members should also ensure that their Aadhaar is registered with the disbursing bank, post office or other relevant institutions.

Here are the steps you can follow to do it digitally:

• Download and install the Aadhaar Face RD app and Jeevan Pramaan app on your smartphone
• Scan your face on the Aadhaar Face RD application
• On the Jeevan Pramaan app, fill in your details like Aadhaar and mobile number, and authenticate with OTP
• Click your photograph from the front camera and submit

After submitting, you will receive the link to download your DSC, along with Certificate ID and PPO number. This means your DSC was submitted successfully.

Apart from this, many pension disbursing banks also allow members to submit their life certificates easily through their mobile and internet banking services.

Remember that the annual life certificate is important for retirees in India to get pension benefits and access their funds. The EPFO has made it simpler for pensioners to access and submit the certificates easily without stepping outside.
