Members can once again access the EPFO Member Sewa portal for services such as Know Your UAN, Track Application Status, UAN for Existing PF, profile management, and online death claim filing by nominees. However, two UAN-related services have been moved out of the portal.

Two UAN services shifted to UMANG

Following the upgrade, UAN Activation and Direct UAN Allotment are no longer available on the EPFO Member Sewa portal.

Instead, members must use the UMANG app and complete the process through Aadhaar-based Face Authentication (FAT). The remaining member services continue to be available on the portal.

Claims may take longer for two weeks

EPFO has also warned that members and employers may experience slightly longer processing times for claims and certain online services during the initial post-migration period.

In a notice on its portal, EPFO said: "EPFO has successfully completed a major database consolidation and software upgrade to enhance service delivery and member experience."

The retirement fund body added: "As part of the post-migration stabilization process, claims and service requests will be processed in a phased and calibrated manner with additional verification and validation checks to ensure the accuracy during the initial period of 2 weeks."

EPFO has advised members and employers to avoid repeated login attempts or submitting duplicate requests during peak hours, as the upgraded system undergoes stabilisation.

Maintenance extended before services resumed

Initially, the organisation had said the maintenance exercise would conclude on June 28, with services resuming on June 29. It later extended the outage until 11:59 pm on July 1 before restoring member and employer services on July 3, 2026.

The upgrade is intended to improve the efficiency of EPFO's digital platform and claims-processing system.

While most online services are now available, the EPF passbook service continues to remain unavailable at the time of writing.
