EPFO credits 8.25% interest for FY26: Steps to check PF balance via Passbook, Passbook Lite & UMANG app

As July 15 arrives, EPFO subscribers are keeping a close watch on their provident fund accounts as the retirement fund body processes the annual interest credit for FY 2025-26. The interest credit at 8.25% is set to reflect in around 34 crore member accounts.
Members can view their updated PF details through the EPFO portal, Passbook, Passbook Lite and the UMANG app.

How to check EPF interest credit and balance

EPFO members can check their updated PF balance through the following methods:

1. EPFO Member Passbook Portal

  • Visit the EPFO Member Passbook portal.

  • Log in using your UAN and password.

  • Select the relevant PF account.

  • View details such as monthly contributions, interest credited and available balance.

2. Passbook Lite facility

EPFO’s Passbook Lite provides members with a simplified view of their PF account details.

  • Members can Log in to the EPFO passbook service.

  • Select the Passbook Lite option.

  • Check a quick summary of contributions, withdrawals and balance information.

  1. UMANG App

Members can also access EPFO services through the UMANG app.

  • Using UMANG, EPFO subscribers can check PF balance.

  • View passbook details.

  • Track claim status.

  • Access various EPFO-related services from their mobile phones.

To use the service, members need to download the UMANG app, log in using their registered mobile number and access the EPFO section.

"Annual interest for FY26 at the rate of 8.25 per cent to 34 crore member accounts, estimated at over Rs 1.44 lakh crore, will be auto-processed and then verified by Field Authorities before being credited to the member account balances. Members will be able to view the interest credit in their passbook by July 15," PTI quoted Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya saying on 8 July.
