EPFO circular: Upload and credit past accumulations of non-UAN members of Exempted Trusts by June 30

However, the past accumulations of such members will be credited only in two scenarios: First, if the cancellation or surrender of the Exempted Trust has already been approved by the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of EPFO, or it has already been notified by the Government. Second, if the proposal of surrender or cancellation of the Exempted Trust is under consideration.

"CPFC has directed that the said functionality be used and Past Accumulations of all such non-UAN Trust members be uploaded and credit given to all such members positively by 30.06.2025 in the following scenarios

"(i) In cases of cancellation or surrender of Exempt Trust which have already been approved by CBT or are already notified by the appropriate Government.

"(ii) In cases where proposals for cancellation or surrender of Exempt Trusts are under examination or consideration," Saurabh Suman Prasad, Regional PF Commissioner-I (Exemption) said in a circular dated June 17, 2025.

The circular has been forwarded to all EPFO zonal offices.

No withdrawal allowed

The EPFO circular also said non-UAN members of Exempted Trusts will not be allowed to make any withdrawal or transfer until their UANs are seeded with their respective Aadhaar numbers.

"It is however, reiterated that no debits (transfer/withdrawal) are to be allowed from such UAN's until the completion of the Aadhaar seeding in the respective UAN's," the circular said.

The EPFO has also asked all zonal offices to submit an action taken report on the above instructions by June 30, 2025.
