Senior citizen fixed deposit interest rates revised in February 2025; list of 6 banks and their top offers

Amid corrections in the stock market, bank fixed deposits are back in trend. FDs are especially popular among senior citizens, as they depend on them as an assured source of income to fund their post-retirement lives.

With the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently cutting the repo rate by 0.25%, attention has now shifted to fixed deposit interest rates, as banks are expected to follow suit and reduce these rates.

Meanwhile, in February 2025, as many as six banks revised their fixed deposit rates for senior citizens and others.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Fixed Deposit

Effective February 21, 2025, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has revised its FD rates. According to the bank's website, it is offering 4.25% to 8.75% fixed deposit interest rates to senior citizens on deposits below ₹3 crore and 3.75% to 8.25% interest to general citizens.

The highest fixed deposit interest rate offered by the bank to senior citizens is 8.75% for deposits of 18 months. This bank also offers 8.45% interest on FD to all customers under Platina Fixed Deposit of 12 to 18 months.

DCB Bank Fixed Deposit

With effect from February 14, 2025, DCB Bank is offering over 8% interest on deposits of six different tenures. According to the bank's website, it is offering an 8.25% interest rate to senior citizens on deposits of more than 12 months to 12 months and 10 days. On deposits of 19 months to 20 months, the bank is offering an 8.55% interest rate. Further, it is offering an 8% interest rate on deposits of 700 days to 26 months, and more than 26 months to less than 37 months.

The DCB Bank is also offering 8.35% interest on deposits of 37 months to 38 months and 8.15% on deposits of 61 months.

Karnataka Bank Fixed Deposit

From February 18, 2025, Karnataka Bank is offering 8% interest on deposits of 401 days and 7.75% on deposits of 1 year to 2 years to senior citizens. These rates are applicable on deposits of less than ₹3 crore.

Suryoday Small Finance Bank Fixed Deposit

With effect from February 01, 2025, Suryoday Small Finance Bank is offering 8.75% interest on deposits of 1 year to 3 years to senior citizens. On deposits of 5 years, the bank is offering 9.1% fixed deposit interest rate. These rates are applicable on deposits of less than ₹3 crore.

City Union Bank Fixed Deposit

With effect from February 10, 2025, City Union Bank is offering 8% fixed deposit interest rate to senior citizens on deposits of 333 days. This bank is also offering 7.25% on deposits of 334 days to 400 days to seniors citizens.

Shivalik Small Finance Bank Fixed Deposit

From February 18, 2025, Shivalik Small Finance Bank Fixed Deposit is offering 9.05% fixed deposit interest rate to senior citizens on deposits of 12 months 1 day to less than 18 months. This bank is also offering 8.8% interest on deposit of 18 months to 24 months and 8% interest on deposits of 24 months 1 day to 36 months.
