Will FD rates rise further?

SBI Chairman C S Setty has indicated that banks may not raise deposit rates over the next two to three months, citing sufficient liquidity in the banking system. However, individual banks may change their rates depending on their funding requirements and market conditions. The RBI’s repo-rate decision does not automatically trigger an increase in FD rates.

Depositors should compare interest rates, tenure options, premature-withdrawal conditions and senior citizen benefits before investing.
