Diwali 2025: As we step into Samvat 2082, investors are once again looking at traditional safe havens like gold and silver to balance their portfolios.

Gold and silver prices in India are currently hovering near record highs amid the Diwali festive season. The shining momentum of gold is expected to persist, with prices soaring over 50% in 2025 and crossing the USD 4,000 per ounce mark.

In India, buying precious metals like gold and silver during Diwali is considered auspicious. Given that silver has outpaced gold in terms of returns over the past year, the question arises: Where should you invest in Samvat 2082? Gold or Silver?

"Both gold and silver have appreciated this year, with the gold bullion rising 47% year-on-year and silver over 52% in the same time period. Similarly, the demand for silver continues upward due to its industrial applications, particularly in green industries such as solar and EVs, making it an ideal investment option," added Guha.

Historically, domestic gold prices have risen in seven of the past ten Diwali seasons, with pre-festival gains often outpacing post-Diwali trends.
