SUMMARY
The biggest jump in monthly net inflows into midcap funds was seen in October 2024 when it increased by around 50% to ₹4683 crore from ₹3130 crore in September 2024. Since then, the midcap funds have seen a modest month-on-month increase in net inflows.

While the stock markets have corrected significantly in the last few months, there has been no slowdown in monthly net inflows into midcap funds in the last six months, according to Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data.
The net flows into midcap funds jumped around 69% from August 2024 to January 2025. In January 2025, the net flows into midcap funds was ₹5,148 crore as compared to ₹3055 crore in August 2024.
The biggest jump in monthly net inflows into midcap funds was seen in October 2024 when it increased by around 50% to ₹4683 crore from ₹3130 crore in September 2024. Since then, the midcap funds have seen a modest month-on-month increase in net inflows.
Interestingly, net inflows into midcap funds increased even as the Nifty Midcap 150 index declined by 6.4% from August 12, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

While the monthly net inflows into midcap funds have increased in last six months, the net asset under management (AUM) of this category has remained more or less same in this duration. In January 2025, the net AUM of midcap funds was ₹3.83 lakh crore, compared to ₹3.84 crore in August 2024.
In January 2025, sectoral/thematic funds witnessed the highest net inflows of ₹9016 crore, followed by flexi-cap funds at ₹5697 crore. Net inflow into large-cap funds was ₹3063 crore and ₹3567 crore in multi-cap funds, while ELSS funds witnessed net inflows worth ₹797 crore, as per AMFI data.
