Silver Rate Today, May 12: How much you have to pay for 1 kg 999 silver

In the retail market, price of silver after keeping steady on Monday (May 11, 2026) have gained ground today. On Tuesday, the prices have gained by ₹ 15,000 per kg to ₹2.9 lakh per kg.

Silver prices remained upbeat as demand in the retail market kept steady amid the ongoing wedding season.

Factors influencing silver rate today

Adjusting to the global moves, silver prices after gaining in early trade on the MCX were seen trading with losses. On the MCX, silver July futures after gaining to 2,82,755 per kg, were down by 0.68% or ₹1,890 at ₹2,76,421 per kg.

Largely, the drag comes amid similar movement in the international market. US silver futures as at the time of writing the copy at around 1 pm traded with a drag of 1.27% at $84.86 per ounce.

The losses in the bullion are propelled as the dollar index is seen moving higher. Furthermore, hawkish Fed signals on interest rates are also weighing on gold rates.

As oil prices continue to remain on the higher side, the higher-for-interest rate anticipation is a negative for bullion markets.
