Factors influencing gold rate in India

Silver prices in India on the MCX were up sharply by as much as 0.93% at ₹2,35,342 per kg. US silver futures also increased by over 1% to $65.6 per ounce.

The gains are seen even as the dollar index inched higher by a tad to above 100.

Any increase in the dollar index makes dollar-priced white metal expensive for holders of other currencies.

Earlier, last week prices remained range-bound showing only some movement.

Prices going ahead will be dependent on the developments in US-Iran negotiations, trends in crude oil markets and a series of other significant global economic indicators.

Now any major developments if seen during the week, will greatly influence energy markets, and consequently will shape investor's risk-appetite and thus impact gold and silver price going ahead.
