Silver Rate Today, April 17: City-wise prices of silver in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai

Silver prices on Friday (April 17, 2026), ahead of the Akshaya Tritiya festival -falling on April 19 (Sunday), have fallen, steeply by as much as ₹5,100 per kg to ₹2,82,000 per 10 gm.

In 10 days, the prices have scaled from ₹2,77,000 to ₹2,8200 per kg, marking gains of just as much as ₹5,000 per kg.

Silver prices in India are determined based on international spot rates, currency exchange rates (USD/INR), and import duties.

Why silver prices soared today?

Silver prices in today's session was seen outperforming the performance in gold. On the MCX, May silver futures rallied by as much as ₹2,088 at the day's high and last at around 11:15 am traded with gains of 0.57% or ₹1,412 at ₹2,50,040 per kg.

Silver prices are shining amid hopes of peace talks as the renewed optimism has helped ease inflationary concerns as well as dimmed hopes of a higher-for-longer interest rates.

Meanwhile, US silver futures traded with decent gains at $79.1.
