Gold prices in the retail market surged on Monday (May 25, 2026) given the rising demand for safe-haven globally amid the unfolding peace negotiations between the US and Iran.

According to Goodreturns.in, the price of 24 carat gold in India increased by ₹320 to ₹1,59,380 per 10 gm. 22 carat gold, meanwhile, increased in price by ₹300 to ₹1,46,100 per 10 gm. 18 carat gold also surged in price by ₹250 to ₹1,19,540 per 10 gm.

Gold rates at major jewellery brands

As of May 25, 2026, here below are the latest rates across major brands.

Joyalukkas: 22 carat gold is priced at ₹1,46,100 per 10 gm. 24 carat gold quoted at ₹1,59,380 per 10 gm. Meanwhile, 18 carat gold is retailing at ₹1,19,540.

Kalyan Jewellers: 22 carat gold is priced for ₹1,46,100 and 24 carat gold is retailing at ₹1,59,380 per 10 gm. The price of 18 carat gold is ₹1,19,540 per 10 gm.

As per IBJA at the time of writing, the price of 22k gold on May 22 was ₹15,432 per gram while the price of 24k and 18k gold was ₹15,812 and ₹12,808 respectively.

Factors influencing gold rate today

Mirroring gains in the international market, gold June futures on the MCX at around 11:11 am traded higher by 0.28% or ₹449 at ₹1,59,128 per 10 gm. In the previous session, the futures contract settled at ₹1,58,679 per 10 gm.

Meanwhile, the US gold futures for August delivery traded higher by 0.77% at $4,591.3 per ounce.

The precious yellow metal surged in price, on the back of softness in the dollar and lower oil prices, as investors pinned hopes on a possible breakthrough in US-Iran negotiations.
