The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.61% to end at 51,778.04, while the S&P 500 gained 1.14% to 7,637.76. The NASDAQ Composite surged 1.69% to 24,418.30.

Nvidia Corporation gained 2.54%, while Amazon.com Inc, Microsoft Corporation, Apple Inc, Alphabet also rose 2.12%, 1.52%, 1.38%, and 1.30%, respectively.

Intel, Advanced Micro Devices, SanDisk Corporation, Micron Technology, Super Micro Computer Inc, Qualcomm, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Moderna, Generic Holdings, Astera Labs, Caterpillar Inc, Cisco Systems and The Goldman Sachs Group also closed in the positive territory.

The 10-year US Treasury yield dropped 7 basis points to 4.93% after the US Federal Reserve's quarter-point interest-rate hike in the range of 3.75%-4% in a unanimous decision.

"Economic activity is expanding at a solid pace. While uncertainty remains elevated owing, in part, to geopolitical developments, domestic spending has been resilient. Productivity growth is strong, and capital investment is robust. Job gains have kept pace with the workforce, and the unemployment rate has changed little," the US Fed said in a statement.

"Inflation remains elevated. Today's policy action will support a timelier return to the Committee's 2% goal. The Committee will deliver price stability," it added.

Brent Crude, the international standard, fell 0.77% to $104.01 a barrel. The West Texas Intermediate declined 0.92% to $100.97 per barrel.

The oil prices descended after Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter, who said that Saudi Arabia is providing more loadings of crude oil to Asian refiners through ship-to-ship transfers off Oman's Sohar port. The country is also expected to return about 50% of the capacity of its damaged East-West pipeline within days, according to ANZ Research analysts.
