NSE, BSE open on Saturday, May 18 for special trading session: Timing, price band and key details

NSE, BSE special trading session: Dalal Street will be buzzing on Saturday, May 18, as the NSE and BSE will be open for a special trading session in the equity and equity derivatives segments. The session is being held to evaluate disaster preparedness if any major disruption occurs.

Both stock exchanges will switch from primary (PR) site to disaster recovery (DR) site during the special trading session.

"Exchange shall be conducting a special live trading session with intra-day switch over from Primary site to Disaster Recovery site on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in equity and equity derivatives segments," the exchanges said.

Live trading from primary site

• Morning block deal window open time: 8:45 am
• Morning block deal window close time: 9:00 am
• Pre-open open time: 9:00 am
• Pre-open close time 9:08 am
• Normal market open time: 9:15 am
• Call auction illiquid open time (Session one): 9:30 am
• Call auction illiquid close time (Session one): 9:45 am
• Normal market close time: 10:00 am

Live trading from disaster recovery site

• Pre-open open time: 11:15 am
• Pre-open close time: 11:23 am
• Normal market open time: 11:30 am
• Call auction illiquid open time (Session two): 11:45 am
• Call auction illiquid close time (Session two): 12:00 noon
• Normal market close time: 12:30 pm
• Closing session time: 12:40 pm to 12:50 pm
• Trade modification end time: 1:00 pm

There will be a maximum price band of 5% on all securities, including those with derivative products. Securities with a 2% or lower price band will keep their respective bands.
