The debt-ridden telecom operator on Tuesday said that it has roped in Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for its new brand identity campaign.

The company, in its new logo, has moved the two-dimensional yellow dot below 'i' to the top in a three-dimensional sphere shape.

"Vi...unveiled a refreshed expression of its brand identity, evolving its signature visual particle into a dynamic 3D sphere, which has now been moved to the top as compared to before. Vi also revealed Shah Rukh Khan as the face of its upcoming campaign, 'Vi badal raha hai... tayaar rahiye, ' the company said in a statement.

Vi said that Khan coming on board is a symbol of the energy, ambition and optimism that the company is bringing to its new phase.

“This is not simply a logo refresh; it is the first expression of the evolution we are bringing to the Vi Brand. It reflects our ambition for Vi and commitment to shaping what telecom can be – an experience that makes life more rewarding, and full of possibilities for our customers," said Abhijit Kishore, CEO, Vi.

Key points

The CEO added that at its heart, the refresh represents Vi’s natural evolution from being a telecom provider to becoming a partner that creates meaningful experiences for its consumers, with connectivity as the backbone.

"Importantly, this refresh also continues to celebrate what customers value about Vi - its heritage, innovative offerings, brand trust, and customer experience excellence philosophy that has always been paramount in the industry," it added.

The press release added that the new identity will be rolled out progressively across Vi’s consumer touchpoints, digital platforms, retail presence and communications starting September 1.

Recent developments shareholders need to know

The adjusted gross revenue (AGR) reassessment significantly strengthened Vodafone Idea's balance sheet and improved visibility on future cash obligations, its chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said last week.

The current fiscal year will be a year of execution and delivery for Vodafone Idea, which has already placed capex orders worth ₹9,000 crore, Birla said while speaking at the 31st annual general meeting (AGM).

"As I look ahead, I believe FY27 will be a year of execution and delivery for your company. The foundations have been laid. Significant progress has been made in addressing legacy challenges, restoring financial flexibility, investing in network infrastructure and rebuilding momentum in the business," he noted.

Since the merger of Vodafone and Idea, the combined entity has achieved its first net subscriber additions in the June quarter of FY27.

April-June 2026 was the first quarter after a long gap when Vi recorded growth in subscriber base on a quarterly basis.

On a year-on-year basis, Vi recorded around a 2% decline in subscriber base to 19.31 crore in the June quarter from 19.77 crore a year earlier. However, the net addition of the company grew quarterly.

Vodafone Idea Q1 FY27 earnings

The telecom firm reported a narrowing of loss to ₹3,754 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (Q1 FY27), mainly on account of relaxation given by the government on dues, a company filing said.

The company had posted a net loss of ₹6,611 crore in the same period a year ago.

Revenue from operations grew 6% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹11,689 crore during the quarter under review, up from ₹11,023 crore in the same period of FY26.
