Vedanta demerger and listing of arms

The Vedanta demerger reached its final leg on June 15, 2026, when four newly carved-out businesses—Vedanta Aluminium Metal, Vedanta Power, Vedanta Oil & Gas, and Vedanta Iron & Steel—were listed on both the BSE and NSE.

The listing followed the demerger of Vedanta Ltd into five focused businesses, with the existing Vedanta Ltd continuing to house the base-metals and zinc operations.

The four new entities underwent a special pre-opening session for price discovery, marking the first market-based valuation of these businesses as standalone companies.

The restructuring was aimed at giving each business greater operational focus and flexibility, while potentially unlocking value for shareholders.
