Vedanta Aluminium shares may remain in focus after latest clarification; key details here

Vedanta Aluminium Metal shares are expected to be in the spotlight on Friday, August 7, following the company's clarification on a media report.

A news report earlier said that Vedanta Aluminium was looking to raise ₹13,500 crore from Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank following its demerger.

Issuing a clarification on Thursday, August 6, the metals company said it continuously evaluates various financing and fundraising opportunities in the ordinary course of business to support its operational and strategic objectives.

It added that any material event or information requiring disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 is duly intimated to the stock exchanges in accordance with the prescribed norms.

Vedanta Aluminium further said there is no unpublished price-sensitive information (UPSI) that has not been disclosed to the stock exchanges and which could explain any movement, if any, in the price or trading volume of its securities.

"The company remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and disclosure practices and will continue to comply with the provisions of the SEBI Listing Regulations," the clarification added.

Shares of the company ended 2.71% higher at ₹480.65 apiece on the NSE on Thursday.

Vedanta Aluminium Q1 FY27 earnings

Last week, Vedanta Aluminium, one of the leading aluminium producers in India, announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 (Q1 FY27), the first earnings as an independent entity.

In its earnings release, the company said its revenue increased to its highest-ever level of ₹21,105 crore, up 13% QoQ (quarter-on-quarter) and 45% YoY (year-on-year), driven by increased volumes & realisations.

EBITDA surged to a record ₹10,499 crore, up 24% QoQ and 134% YoY on the added strength of cost efficiency, while the EBITDA margin rose to a best-ever 50%.

Profit stood at ₹6,597 crore, increasing 33% QoQ and 205% YoY, reflecting strong operating performance.

The company further strengthened its balance sheet through deleveraging, with Net Debt to EBITDA improving to 0.9x from 1.3x in Q4FY26.

"Reflecting its sustained performance, Vedanta Aluminium also received a credit rating upgrade to AA+ (Stable) from both CRISIL and ICRA," the release added.

Aluminium production

The company’s aluminium production reached an all-time high of 632 KT, up 3% QoQ and 5% YoY while value-added products (VAP) production achieved a best-ever figure of 389 KT, up 4% QoQ and 14% YoY.

Alumina production stood at 826 KT, up 41% YoY through enhanced refining capacity and asset utilisation.

Vedanta Aluminium listing

Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited (VAML) officially listed and commenced trading on the BSE and NSE on June 15, 2026, following the Vedanta Group's major corporate demerger. The stock debuted at ₹527 per share on the BSE and ₹522 per share on the NSE.
