The Indian equity benchmarks were trading on a subdued note in noon deals on Thursday, September 10, ahead of weekly expiry of SENSEX futures and option contracts due later in the day.

Investor sentiment remained negative after crude oil surpassed $100 per barrel. The SENSEX fell as much as 245 points from the day's highest level and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 23,403 and a high of 23,495.

As of 12:21 pm, the SENSEX was down 10 points at 74,754 and NIFTY50 index was unchanged at 23,432.

Here are shares surging amid spike in trading activity:
Tata Investment Corporation: Shares of the Tata Group's investment company rose as much as 9.82% to an intraday high of ₹679 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 32 times to 40.70 lakh shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) compared with an average volume of 1.28 lakh shares.

As many as 2.72 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 20,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

IRB Infrastructure Developers: Shares of the civil construction company advanced as much as 7.55% to an intraday high of ₹20.51 after its toll collection in August rose 25% to ₹807 crore compared with ₹646 crore in the same month last year.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 3.2 times to 3.98 crore shares compared with an average volume of 9.55 lakh shares.

As many as 35 lakh shares were traded on the BSE compared with its two-week average of 9.88 lakh shares.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation: Shares of the industrial minerals company advanced 4.45% to an intraday high of ₹600 amid spike in volumes.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by three times to 29 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 9.55 lakh shares.

A total of 3.04 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 64,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Ola Electric Mobility: Shares of electric two-wheeler maker advanced as much as 8.55% to an intraday high of ₹40.50 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume in the stock jumped 1.9 times to 6.78 crore compared with an average volume of 3.55 crore shares.

On the BSE, a total of 83 lakh shares were traded compared with a two week average of 46.57 lakh shares.

Tega Industries: Shares of the industrial products maker advanced as much as 6% to an intraday high of ₹1,779 as trading activity spiked.

Trading volume in the stock nearly doubled to 9.26 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 4.84 lakh shares.

As many as 37,000 shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 16,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.
