The pharma company’s revenue from operations increased 33% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹417 crore in the September quarter of FY27, as against ₹314 crore registered in the year-ago period.

The operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), jumped 7% to ₹77 crore as compared to ₹35 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Its EBITDA margin expanded to 18.47% in the reporting quarter from 11% in Q2 FY26, despite continued input cost pressures.

Solara Activa posted highest quarterly EBITDA and PAT in the last five years. Sandeep Rao, Managing Director and CEO, said the company’s base business continued to drive growth, with revenue, EBITDA and margin increasing despite higher raw material costs.

The company’s commodity ibuprofen business reported a gross margin of around 36% and an EBITDA margin of -0.2% in Q2 FY27, compared with -11.4% in Q1 FY27. The improvement came amid changing market conditions, although the business continues to operate in a challenging environment.

The strategic review of the ibuprofen business, conducted with the board's advisors, has reached an advanced stage. The firm said it expects to share further updates with shareholders within the next 12 weeks.

“Ibuprofen is turning around. Revenue grew 21% over last year and 18% over last quarter, and the business is now close to breakeven, from a loss margin of 21% just two quarters ago,” said Rao.
