Solar Industries India shares rally 5% to hit 52-week high; here's why

Solar Industries India shares jumped as much as 5% to hit a 52-week high of ₹21,645 apiece on Thursday, September 3, following a news report that the company is set to acquire a global firm.

According to a CNBC-Awaaz report, Solar Industries is looking to acquire a South Africa-based company, and the deal is likely to be announced as soon as Friday or early next week.

The stock exchanges have sought clarification from Solar Industries India with respect to the news item. However, the response from the company is awaited.

Last month, the explosives manufacturer firm had reported a consolidated net profit of ₹653 crore, marking a jump of 92.6% for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27) as compared to a net profit of ₹339 crore seen in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Its revenue from operations increased 70% to ₹3,668 crore as against ₹2,154 crore in the year ago period.

The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) also jumped 90% to ₹1,015 crore in the reporting quarter as compared to ₹534 crore in Q1 FY26. The EBITDA margin expanded to 27.7% in contrast to 24.8% year-on-year (YoY).

As of June 30, 2026, the company’s order book stood at ₹21,350 crore, supporting future growth.

At 2 PM, Solar Industries India shares were trading at ₹21,610 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, gaining 4.9%.

From the beginning of the year, Solar Industries India shares have skyrocketed 77%. Over a month’s time, the stock has surged 15%, while for a six-month period, it has jumped 48%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week low of ₹11,646 apiece on December 18, 2025.

Solar Industries is one of the leading domestic manufacturers of bulk and cartridge explosives, detonators, detonating cords, and components that find applications in the mining, infrastructure, and construction industries.

The company manufactures high-energy explosives, delivery systems, ammunition filling, and pyros fuses for the defence sector.
