Apple’s WWDC2026 updates

At WWDC2026, held at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, the tech giant introduced a new artificial intelligence-powered Siri as the iPhone maker tries to catch up to rivals when it comes to AI.

Apple previewed the next generation of Apple Intelligence and introduced Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri that the company said was “profoundly more intelligent, knowledgeable, and capable”.

Siri AI is a new version of Siri deeply integrated into iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. It will draw on personal context understanding to search across messages, emails, photos, and more, and get things done across apps with even more systemwide app actions. Additionally, Siri AI will answer questions related to the content on a user’s screen or go out to the web to get up-to-date information using broad world knowledge and generate a helpful answer.

Apple said Siri AI will feature a dedicated app that stores conversation history and privately synchronises interactions across devices through iCloud.

Apple introduced new features to help parents create safe digital experiences for kids, as well as improvements that further “elevate” the software design and performance of Apple products while making them “more responsive and easier to use” with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27.

The new features will help parents to manage what their kids can see, who they can talk to, and when they have access to apps.

By setting up a child account, parents will immediately enable age-appropriate protections across the system, and with Setup Assistant, parents will be able to choose exactly which apps to make available and stay in control of what gets added over time.

There’s also a new opacity slider for Apple’s Liquid Glass design.

Even the Home app is getting a notable update, enabling it to generate descriptions of camera clips and stitch together footage from different cameras with AI.

The new features are available for testing through the Apple Developer Program, and a public beta will be available through the Apple Beta Software Program next month.

Users who enable Apple Intelligence on supported products set to a supported language will have access this fall with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.

Redington has a total market capitalisation of ₹19,002.59 crore as of June 9, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
