RailTel Corporation share price: Shares of state-owned RailTel Corporation of India soared as much as 5.3% to hit an intraday high of ₹265.65 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, September 17, after it bagged an order from Prasar Bharti (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Director General, Doordarshan.

At around 11:01 AM, the stock was trading 2.28% higher at ₹258.10 per equity share. The scrip has fallen 3% in the past week and 8% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has lost 30%.

While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹412.90 apiece on September 17, 2025, they touched a year’s low of ₹245 per unit on March 30, 2026.

RailTel Corporation secured a letter of intent (LoI) to add additional features or services to Prasar Bharti’s existing WAVES over-the-top (OTT) platform.

RailTel Corp will execute the order for approximately ₹63.15 crore, including tax, the filing read.

Recent updates

In a separate filing dated September 3, the company informed the exchanges that the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh cancelled its letter of award (LoA) to the company due to non-availability of the funds required for the implementation of the project.

RailTel Corporation of India had received an LoA from the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh for establishment of MIS-Central Dashboard System for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Himachal Pradesh, for ₹20.35 crore, including tax.

Earlier in August, the firm bagged an order worth ₹38.59 crore from the Cotton Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI) for the renewal of cloud data center hosting service for hardware and software for Oracle EBS, e-Office, BITS, Cotbiz & Kapas Kisan Applications, it said on August 27.

On August 20, RailTel Corp secured a ₹164.78 crore order from Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) for a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN) network for the latter on a rental basis for 60 months.

RailTel Corp Q1 results

For the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), the company's net profit remained flat at ₹66 crore year-on-year (YoY), while revenue from operations increased 20% to ₹893.2 crore from ₹743.8 crore YoY.

Its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew nearly 14% YoY to ₹132 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹116 crore in the April-June quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26), though the EBITDA margin contracted to 14.7% from 15.6% in the corresponding quarter last year.
