Bajaj Finance shares climb 5% as AUM grows 26.5% YoY to ₹5.85 lakh crore in Q2; check Q2 business updates

Bajaj Finance share price: Shares of Bajaj Finance surged as much as 5% to hit an intraday high of ₹995.80 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday, October 5, as the NBFC reported its business updates for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q2 FY27).

According to a regulatory filing dated October 3, the NBFC’s new loans booked advanced 11% year-on-year (YoY) to 13.45 million during the quarter under review, compared with 12.17 million in the September quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q2 FY26).

Its assets under management (AUM) stood at approximately ₹5.85 lakh crore as of September 30, 2026, reflecting a 26.5% YoY jump from ₹4.62 lakh crore in the year-ago period.

Bajaj Finance’s AUM increased by approximately ₹37,800 crore in the July-September quarter of FY27, it further stated.

Its customer franchise stood at 128.85 million as of 30 September 2026, in contrast to 110.64 million in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year.

The customer franchise jumped by 4.42 million during Q2 FY27, the company added.

The company’s deposit book stood at about ₹ 69,750 crore as of 30 September 2026.

Board approves QIP, preferential issue

In a separate regulatory filing dated October 1, the company said its board of directors, at its meeting, approved the proposal for raising capital through qualified institutional placement (QIP), along with the preferential issue of warrants.

The company’s board of directors approved the proposal to raise capital up to ₹11,700 crore through QIP by issuing equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each.

Bajaj Finance’s board also approved the proposal for a preferential issue of warrants convertible into an equivalent number of shares for an aggregate amount not exceeding ₹5,800 crore.

Furthermore, it will seek shareholder approval for the proposed QIP and preferential issue by convening an extraordinary general meeting (EGM), the filing read.

Bajaj Finance stock performance

At around 10:50 AM, Bajaj Finance shares were trading 4.06% higher at ₹986.90 per unit.

The scrip has advanced nearly 1% in the past week but fallen more than 6% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has jumped 2%.

While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹1,176.40 per equity share on August 3, 2026, it touched a year’s low of ₹1,176.40 apiece on March 23, 2026.
