Top gainers and losers on May 13: Infosys, Eternal, Power Grid, HCL Tech fall over 3%; check full list

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.19% or 105 points to close at 55,520.70, outperforming its larger peers. As many as 49 shares in the index ended higher while 51 closed lower. Bharat Dynamics was the top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 11.47% to close at ₹1,750. Vishal Mega Mart (6.62%), BSE (5.02%), Cochin Shipyard (3.82%) and Mazagon Dock (3.64%) were also among the gainers.

The Indian equity benchmarks ended sharply lower on Tuesday, May 13 as investors booked profits after a strong rally in the previous session. The SENSEX ended 1,282 points or 1.55% lower at 81,148 and NIFTY50 index declined 346 points or 1.39% to close at 24,578 dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, Infosys, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and Tata Consultancy Services.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Infosys was top loser in the NIFTY50 basket of shares, the stock fell 3.63% to close at ₹1,568. Eternal (-3.34%), Power Grid (-3.19%), HCL Technologies (-3.02%) and TCS (-2.83%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Bharat Electronics was top gainer in the NIFTY50 basket, the stock surged 4.06% to close at ₹335.90. The stock mirrored gains in other defence shares after Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the effectiveness of “Made in India” defence equipment during Operation Sindhoor.

PM Modi said Operation Sindoor against Pakistan is not over and the time has come for 'Made in India' defence equipment.

“India has showcased its excellence in new-age warfare. The time has come for 'Made in India' defence equipment,” he said.

Jio Financial Services (1.83%), Hero MotoCorp (1.77%), Dr Reddy's Labs (1.04%) and Sun Pharma (0.95%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, UPL was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 5.19% to close at ₹641.70. Bharti Hexacom (-3.32%), SRF (-2.97%), OFSS (-2.67%) and Torrent Power (-2.52%) were also among the laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended 0.81% or 136 points higher at 16,903.40. As many as 64 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher while 36 closed lower. Inventurus Knowledge Solutions was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 6.56% to close at ₹1,664. Afcons Infrastructure (5.94%), Gujarat State Petronet (5.26%), Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (5.21%) and Kaynes (5.02%) were also among the gainers.
