SUMMARY

NSE’s midcap 100 gauge closed in the green at 57,925, up by 408 points or 0.71%. The gains were led by RVNL (6.86%), Policy Bazar (5.91%), APL Apollo Tubes (4.65%), Jubilant Foodworks (4.39%) and PI Industries Ltd (4.01%).

The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in positive territory on Wednesday, June 4, following three days of decline, supported by buying in blue-chip Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank.

The NIFTY50 index rose 78 points or 0.32% to settle at 24,620 and the BSE SENSEX rose 261 points, or 0.32%, to end at 80,998. During the session, it surged as much as 349.78 points or 0.43% to 81,087.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Eternal led the NIFTY50 pack, gaining 3.21%. It was followed by Jio Financial Services (2.36%), IndusInd Bank (1.79%), Bharti Airtel (1.72%) and Bharat Electronics (1.28%), which were among the top gainers.

In contrast, Bajaj Finserve closed in the red, down 1.63%. Trent (-1.43%), Eicher Motors (-1.01%), Shriram Finance (-0.96%) and Axis Bank (-0.83%) were the day’s top laggards.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s midcap 100 gauge closed in the green at 57,925, up by 408 points or 0.71%. The gains were led by RVNL (6.86%), Policy Bazar (5.91%), APL Apollo Tubes (4.65%), Jubilant Foodworks (4.39%) and PI Industries Ltd (4.01%).

On the other hand, ABRFL fell as much as 10.37% on reports that Flipkart likely sold shares worth ₹600 crore in the company. Alkem Laboratories (-2.77%), Premier Energies (-2.47%), Suzlon Energy (-2.07%) and the Phoenix Mill (-1.63%) were the top losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index increased by 143 points or 0.79% to close at 18,257. Its top gainers were Ircon International (14%), Railtel Corporation of India (12.03%), Swan Energy (9.62%), Garden Reach Shipbuilder & Engineers (6.90%) and Inventurus Knowledge Solution (5.86%).

On the flipside, Karur Vysya Bank (-2.52%), Brainbees Solutions(-2.41%), Manappuram Finance (-2.12%), Signature Global (-1.82%) and Anant Raj (-1.57%) were among the top losers.

NIFTY oil and gas (0.67%), metal (0.6%), IT (0.33%) and auto (0.27%) were the top-performing sectors on Wednesday.
