The bourses will experience a shortened trading week, amid the rapidly escalating West Asia war, as the US and Israel attacked Iran over the weekend, which led to the death of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Is the stock market closed on Tuesday or Wednesday?

The festival of Holi is usually celebrated over a period of two consecutive days. This year, Holi will be celebrated on March 3 and March 4.

People will celebrate Holika Dahan, which involves lighting bonfires on the evening of March 3, and enjoy the main event, which comprises playing with dry and wet colors on March 4.

However, the bourses have declared a trading holiday for Holi only on March 3. This means trading activities in primary and secondary markets will be halted on Tuesday.

The domestic commodities market, the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX), will also remain closed on Tuesday due to Holi.
