The following is the list of remaining stock market holidays in the United States for the calendar year 2026. However, in the case of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the markets will close early at 1:00 pm (EDT) one day ahead of the holiday, according to the NYSE data.
The benchmark US stock market indices closed on a mixed note, with the Dow ending up in the red zone, while S&P and Nasdaq ended at green after the final trading day of the week amid hopes of a potential de-escalation of the US-Iran conflict.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.13% lower at 46,504.67 points after Thursday’s stock market session, compared to 46,565.74 points at the previous market close, according to MarketWatch data.
Stocks like IBM, Cisco Systems, UnitedHealth Group, and Travelers Cos. were among the gainers, while others like Home Depot, Sherwin-Williams, Caterpillar, and Amgen were among the top losers.
The S&P 500 index closed 0.11% higher at 6,582.69 points after Thursday’s Wall Street session, compared to 6,575.32 points at the previous market close. Company stocks like SBA Communications, Lumentum Holdings, Ciena Corp., and EchoStar Corp. were among the gainers.
Other stocks like Tesla, GE Aerospace, Stanley Black & Decker, and Carnival Corp were among the top losers on April 2.
The Nasdaq Composite index closed 0.18% higher at 21,879.18 points after Thursday’s stock market session, compared to 21,840.95 points at the previous market close, according to the exchange data.
Stocks like Visionary Holdings, Sky Quarry, Semilux International, and Cocrystal Pharma were among the top gainers on the index, while other shares such as Smart Digital Group, Lipocine, PMGC Holdings, and X3 Holdings were among the top laggeds on the final trading day of the week.
