NSE, BSE special trading session: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE will hold a special trading session in the equity and equity derivatives segments on Saturday, May 18. The session is being conducted to test disaster preparedness in case of any major disruptions.
During the special live trading session, there will be an intraday switch to the disaster recovery (DR) site from the primary (PR) site.
"Members are requested to note that Exchange shall be conducting special live trading session with intra-day switch over from Primary site to Disaster Recovery site on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Equity and Equity Derivatives segments," NSE and BSE said in separate circulars.
On May 18, both exchanges will be carrying out two sessions - the first trading session will be on the PR site from 9:15 am to 10 am, and the second session will be on the DR site from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
"Exchange shall be conducting a special live trading session with intra-day switch over from Primary site to Disaster Recovery site on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in equity and equity derivatives segments," the exchanges said.
All securities, including those on which derivative products are available, will have a maximum price band of 5% during the trading session on May 18. Securities already in the 2% or lower price band will remain available in the respective bands.
On March 2, both NSE and BSE held similar trading sessions.
These sessions are being conducted based on specific discussions with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and their technical advisory committee to assess the preparedness of market infrastructure establishments like exchanges to handle any unforeseen event impacting their operations and restore operations from the DR site within the specified time.
