In a separate circular, the NSE notified that while the commodity derivatives segment will be closed for the morning session on Thursday, it will be open for the evening session.

During the evening session, the commodity derivatives market will remain open from 5 pm to 11:55 pm.

"In partial modification to Exchange circular reference no. In a circular on Friday, the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) had notified traders of a settlement holiday due to the BMC election.

It stated that there will be no settlement-related activities on Thursday, as banks will not provide clearing services on that day.

"Pay-in obligation for trade date January 14, 2026, shall remain blocked from the available Margin Limit of the Clearing Member on January 15, 2026," it said, adding that settlement for both the trade dates (Jan 14 and 15) will be conducted on Friday, January 16.
