Aerospace and artificial intelligence company SpaceX, which absorbed Elon Musk's AI startup xAI, AI research company OpenAI and AI safety and research company Anthropic are planning to launch their IPOs.

SpaceX IPO

SpaceX has filed initial share sale papers, revealing details of the world's largest IPO on record.

According to the prospectus, SpaceX, which would trade under the symbol 'SPCX' on Nasdaq, said that its mission is to build the technologies and systems needed to make life multiplanetary, to understand the true nature of the universe and to extend the light of consciousness to the stars.

The prospectus did not disclose how much the company plans to raise, but various reports have put it at $80 billion.

The funds raised will be used for growth strategy, including the expansion of its AI compute infrastructure, improvement to its launch vehicles and launch infrastructure, upscaling capacity of satellite constellations, and corporate general purposes.

SpaceX, which is officially called Space Exploration Technologies Corp., had a revenue of $18.7 billion last year with a net loss of $4.9 billion.

OpenAI IPO

ChatGPT maker OpenAI is preparing to file draft papers soon via a confidential route for a US IPO, according to multiple reports.

OpenAI, which was last valued at $852 billion, is working with merchant bankers Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs to file a draft prospectus in the coming weeks, CNBC reported.
OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar, in conversation with CNBC last month, said that it is "good hygiene" for a firm of OpenAI's size to "look and feel and act" like a public firm. However, she did not comment on a specific timeline.

The AI player brought in revenue of more than $13 billion last year but expects to spend around $115 billion over the next four years.

Earlier this year, OpenAI said that it serves over 900 million weekly active users.

Anthropic IPO

Claude operator Anthropic could go public as soon as the fourth quarter of 2026.

According to The Wall Street Journal report, Anthropic could generate $10.9 billion in revenue from operations in the second quarter. If achieved, it will be the first profitable quarter for the company.

In the first quarter, it had generated a revenue of $4.8 billion.

Anthropic derives around 80% of its revenue from enterprise customers as against 40% for OpenAI.

The company was founded in 2021 by a group of researchers and executives who left OpenAI, citing concerns regarding the company's direction.
