The initial public offering of Orient Cables (India) Ltd has been subscribed 16.43 times so far on the third day of bidding on Tuesday, September 29.

The IPO secured bids for 24,60,69,175 shares against 1,49,76,743 shares on offer, according to data available with the NSE until 12:12 pm.

The part for non-institutional investors attracted 38.89 times subscription, while the quota for retail investors was booked 16.06 times. The category for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) received 23% subscription.

The ₹552 crore IPO consists of a fresh issue of equity shares worth up to ₹320 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of shares aggregating up to ₹232 crore.

Proceeds from the fresh issue will be utilised for capital expenditure towards the purchase of machinery, equipment and civil works at its manufacturing units, besides repayment of certain borrowings and general corporate purposes.

With a price band of ₹258 to ₹272 per share, a lot consists of 55 shares.

Orient Cables specialises in networking cables and passive networking equipment and serves to industries including telecom, broadband, renewable energy, data centres, and smart building automation.

Orient Cables IPO allotment is expected to be finalised on Wednesday, September 30. The company will make its stock market debut on October 5.
