Diwali 2025 could be early for IPO investors, as the initial public offerings of NBFC giant Tata Capital and consumer goods major LG Electronics India could launch in early October, multiple media reports stated.

Tata Capital IPO

Tata Capital, an upper-layer non-banking financial company, is seeking to raise around ₹16,400 crore through an initial share sale starting October 6, Moneycontrol reported, citing multiple sources.

The IPO will consist of a fresh issuance of up to 21 crore equity shares and an offer for sale component of up to 26.58 crore shares, as per the updated Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP).

Under the OFS, promoter Tata Sons will divest 23 crore shares, while the International Finance Corporation will offload up to 3.58 crore shares.

The money generated will be utilised for augmenting Tier-I capital and fuelling lending growth.

"In addition, our Company expects to receive the benefits of listing of the Equity Shares on the Stock Exchanges, including enhancement of our Company’s brand name and creation of a public market for our Equity Shares in India," Tata Capital said.

Presently, Tata Sons holds an 88.6% stake in the NBFC, while the International Finance Corporation holds 1.8%.

Tata Capital is the third largest diversified NBFC in the country with total gross loans of ₹2,265.5 billion, serving seven million customers, as of March 2025.

Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, BNP Paribas, Citigroup Global Markets India, Axis Capital, and HDFC are the issue's book-running lead managers, while MUFG Intime India is the registrar.

LG Electronics India IPO

LG Electronics India's IPO is expected to open for public subscription on October 6, Bloomberg reported, adding that the company is looking to raise around ₹11,500 crore.

According to the report, the company filed an updated DRHP last month for which it has secured market regulator SEBI's approval.

The South Korean firm's India arm will now file the final papers next week, the report said.

Initially, promoter LG Electronics Inc was looking to sell 10.18 crore shares in LG Electronics India via the OFS route.

Morgan Stanley India Company, Axis Capital, JP Morgan India, Citigroup Global Markets India and BofA Securities India are the issue's book-running lead managers, while KFin Technologies serves as the registrar.
