Trent shares are trading above its 20-day EMA and 50-day EMA ahead of Q2 result announcement.
Trent, the parent company of Zudio and Westside, will announce its September quarter (Q2FY27) results on Thursday, October 29. The company is expected to report upbeat quarterly earnings, with double-digit growth in revenue and net profit.
In its Q2FY27 business update, the Tata Group company reported standalone revenue of ₹5,788 crore, up about 20% YoY. Its total store count stood at 1,342 across Westside, Zudio and other lifestyle formats. During the quarter, the company opened 17 Zudio and 10 Westside stores. In the first half of FY27, Trent revenue stood at ₹11,454 crore, up 21% YoY.
According to experts, the Tata Group-owned company could report standalone revenue growth of 20% to 23% YoY between ₹5,690 and ₹5,780 crore. The company registered revenue of ₹4,818 crore in Q2FY26, while it stood at ₹5,755 crore in the previous quarter.
Trent’s net profit could see double-digit growth, aided by new store openings and an improvement in same-store sales. The company’s net profit was ₹373 crore in the September quarter of FY26 and ₹518 crore in the previous quarter.
Investors will look for key performance metrics such as same-store sales growth and EBITDA margins. Management commentary on future growth, the overall demand outlook and the store expansion strategy across metros and smaller cities will also be closely watched.
Ahead of the Q2 results, Trent shares closed 3.3% higher at ₹2,914 on Wednesday, October 28. The stock has been largely flat this year, up 2.1% so far in 2026.
Trent heads into its results on a strong note. The rally has also pushed Trent back above both its 20-day EMA and 50-day EMA. The two averages are almost level. The 20-day EMA has been slightly below the 50-day EMA since late August, but it has now started to turn up. A crossover would add to the positive signs.
Meanwhile, the Directional Movement Index (DMI) shows buyers have just regained an edge. The ADX at 22.8 has been easing. So the trend is improving, but it is not yet strong.

The options market expects a move of about ±7.4% by expiry in Trent, which puts the expected range at roughly ₹2,709 to ₹3,141.
Trent’s results have often moved the stock sharply, but the direction has changed over time. In FY24 and early FY25, the stock usually rose after its results. Since Q4FY25, however, it has fallen the day after in five of the last six quarters, including a 7.4% drop after Q2FY26 and a 3.5% fall after Q1FY27.
Even so, the current pricing is on the higher side. In the last 12 quarters, the next-day move never went beyond 7.4%. Over 10 days, the stock moved more than 7.4% in only three quarters, and all three were before FY26.

If you expect the stock to stay in a range: A short straddle could be considered. The current pricing is higher than most of Trent’s past reactions, and option premiums usually fall once the results are out. The strategy makes profit if the stock stays between roughly ₹2,684 and ₹3,116 until the November expiry. However, stop-losses are important, and traders can limit the risk by buying a call and a put further away from the current price.

If you expect a sharp move after the results: A long straddle could be considered. Trent’s next-day moves have gone beyond 4% in four of the last 12 quarters. The strategy makes profit if Trent falls below roughly ₹2,684 or rises above ₹3,116 by expiry. At ₹216, however, the cost is high, and option premiums usually fall after the results, so the move needs to be large for this trade to work.
