Swaraj Engines Q1 FY27 results: Net profit rises 11%; cumulative sales volume crosses 2 million mark since inception

Q1 FY27 results: Swaraj Engines reported a net profit of ₹56 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (Q1 FY27) on Monday, July 20, as compared to ₹50 crore reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year, registering a growth of 11%.

The company’s revenue from operations jumped 21% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis to ₹588 crore in the April to June quarter as against ₹484 crore seen in Q1 FY26.

The Mohali-based diesel engine maker reported stable operating performance as its operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), advanced 16% to ₹77 crore from ₹67 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.

In Q1 FY27, the margin dipped marginally to 13.11% YoY from 13.74%.

“In the backdrop of robust engine demand, Swaraj Engines Limited posted yet another strong quarterly financial performance and recorded its highest ever engine sales and profit for any quarter,” the company said in a statement.

Furthermore, Swaraj Engines reported a 15.8% yearly growth in engine sales for Q1 FY27, with volumes rising to 56,803 units compared to 49,040 units in the same period last year. The company said its cumulative sales volume has also crossed the 2 million mark since inception.

The profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter stood at ₹74.64 crore, up from ₹67.17 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company’s basic earnings per share (EPS) expanded to ₹45.70 apiece in the first quarter, compared to ₹41.14 per share in the same period a year earlier.

Swaraj Engines Limited was set up in 1985 in Mohali, Punjab, and is primarily engaged in the business of supplying engines to the Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

Following the earnings, Swaraj Engines shares jumped 3% to touch an intraday high of ₹3,830 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. At 12:05 PM, the stock was seen at ₹3,726, gaining 0.45%.

Over a month’s time, the stock has fallen 6%, while the stock has surged 8% in six months. On a year-on-year basis, Swaraj Engines shares have fallen 13.5%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹4,625 on July 17, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹3,301.30 on March 30, 2025.

The company has a total market capitalisation of ₹4,514.89 crore, according to data on the NSE.
