Jio Platforms Ltd achieved a new milestone of crossing 500 million subscriber base.

Reliance Industries shares closed 1.4% higher ahead of its Q2FY26 results on Friday. The shares closed at 1,419 apiece on the NSE. On a consolidated basis, the company’s net profit after tax jumped 14.3% to ₹22,092 crore.

At the segmental level, the digital services business, which includes Jio, reported strong growth in the topline and operational efficiency during the quarter. In addition, the company also achieved a new milestone of crossing 500 million subscribers, taking the total to 506 million subscribers.

The Digital businesses revenue jumped 14.9% YoY to ₹42,652 crore with a quarterly EBITDA of ₹18,757 crore, up by 17.7% YoY. The strong growth in revenue and improvement in operational efficiency can be attributed to the rising subscriber base and sustained ARPU growth during the quarter.

The customer base increased from 478 million to 506 million, up from 5.6% YoY, while the Average revenue per user (ARPU) jumped 8.4% YoY to ₹211.4 per subscriber as against ₹195 per subscriber in the previous year’s similar quarter. Similarly, the data traffic also increased substantially to 58.4 billion GB as against 45 billion GB in the same period last year.

Other key highlights

  • JioTrue5G user base increased to 234 million as of September 2025. 5G now accounts for ~50% of total wireless traffic driven by consistent increase in customer engagement.

  • Per capita data consumption was 38.7 GB/ month, and total data traffic growth of 29.8% Y-o-Y during Q2FY26.

  • During the quarter, Jio added over 1 million new homes each month taking the total connected premises to ~23 million with fixed broadband. JioAirFiber extended its global leadership with a subscriber base of 9.5 million.
