State-run power financing company REC Limited reported a 5.47% surge in standalone net profit to ₹4,236.2 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25, according to an exchange filing on Thursday, May 8.

The company had posted a net profit of ₹4,016.3 crore a year back.

Revenue from operations increased 20.18% to ₹15,159.44 crore in the quarter ended March 2025, compared to ₹12,613.14 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Net interest income (NII) surged 37.6% to ₹5,877 crore in Q4 FY25 as against ₹4,272.5 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In the quarter under review, the company's interest income rose 20.6% to ₹14,935 crore from ₹12,383.58 crore in the March quarter of FY24.

REC announces dividend

The company's Board recommended a final dividend of ₹2.6 per share for FY25, subject to approval at the upcoming annual general meeting.

This is in addition to the ₹15.4 per share interim dividend already declared during FY25 in four tranches, thereby making the total dividend for the said year to be ₹18 per share.

"The aforesaid final dividend for the financial year 2024-25 of ₹2.60 per share, if declared at the ensuing AGM, will be paid to the shareholders within 30 days from the date of declaration in the ensuing AGM," it said.

The Board also approved the formation of a 50:50 joint venture between REC's wholly owned unit, REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd, and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd to develop renewable energy and other power and infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile, shares of REC Ltd settled 4.51% lower at 392.4 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
