The earnings season has approached its end, with only five notable companies scheduled to post their March 2024 quarter earnings on Friday, May 31. Athena Constructions, VAS Infrastructure and Tarai Foods are among the listed entities that will declare the results.
Panorama Studios International and Add-Shop ERetail would also announce their results for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24 (Q4FY24).
Along with the quarterly scorecard, these companies would also post their earnings for the entire fiscal year ended March 31, 2024.
The earnings season began in the second week of April, and stretched up till the end of May. While usually the three-month results are declared by the company within 45 days of the end of a quarter, the numbers were delayed this time as the listed entities also posted their results for the entire fiscal year.
India’s largest company in terms of market capitalisation, Reliance Industries Ltd, had declared its results last month. The country’s top three IT service providers – Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, and Wipro – also post their earnings in April. The top lenders such as ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Yes Bank also declared their results last month.
However, some of the top listed entities, including Adani Enterprises, Tata Motors, and ITC, along with an array of major public sector undertakings such as the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), State Bank of India (SBI), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), among others, post their Q4 earnings this month.
The results for the January-March quarter of major companies reflected the upbeat business environment prevailing in the country, analysts said. The private sector has generally performed well, and the PSUs have remained steady and cheered investors with dividend rollouts, they added.
