NTPC Q3 results: Net profit rises 8% YoY to ₹5,489 crore, interim dividend declared for FY26

NTPC Q3 Results: Power generation company NTPC reported its earnings for the third quarter of the 2025-26 financial year (Q3FY26) on Friday, January 30.

Its consolidated net profit soared 8.42% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹5,488.67 crore during the quarter under review, compared to ₹5,062.51 crore in the December quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year (Q3FY25).

Its revenue from operations rose 1.7% YoY to ₹45,845.68 crore in Q3FY26, as against ₹45,069.43 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

It's installed and commercial capacity increased by 9,039 megawatts (MW) to stand at 85,637 MW as on December 31, 2025, as against 76,598 as on December 31, 2024.

It had a total portfolio capacity of 1,18,595 MW, of which coal made up 69% at 81,714 MW, solar contributed 16% at 18,956 MW, gas 6% (6,511 MW), hydro 5% (6,438 MW) and wind 4% (4,976 MW).

The company’s standalone gross generation, however, declined 4.37% YoY to 87.259 billion units (BUs) for the reporting period, in comparison to 91.25 BUs in Q3 of FY25.

Board declares second interim dividend

NTPC's board of directors also declared the company's second interim dividend for FY26 at the rate of 27.50% at ₹2.75 per equity share with a face value of ₹10 each.

It also said that it will dispatch or make the payment for the dividend on February 25, 2026.

NTPC stock performance

Ahead of the earnings announcement, shares of NTPC closed 1.13% lower at ₹354.10 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday.

The scrip has gained more than 5% in the past week and 9% over the month. On a year-to-date basis, it has surged 5%.

While the stock touched a 52-week high of ₹371.45 on March 25, 2025, it reached a year’s low of ₹292.80 per equity share on February 17, 2025.

NTPC has a total market capitalisation of ₹3.43 lakh crore, as of January 30, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
