NTPC Green Energy shares jump nearly 5% as Q4 FY25 net profit triples to ₹233 crore

NTPC Green Energy Q4 Results: NTPC Green Energy Ltd reported strong earnings for the March 2025 quarter (Q4 FY25). Following the results, shares of the company jumped 4.8% to ₹108 apiece on the NSE.

NTPC Green Energy’s total consolidated income jumped 35.8% YoY to ₹751 crore. However, the company received nearly ₹129 crore from other income sources. The other income gains came from the interest income on the unutilised IPO proceeds lying with scheduled commercial banks.

On the bottom line front, the net profit for the quarter jumped 188% YoY to ₹233 crore as against ₹ 80 crore in Q4 FY25 and a 258% QoQ increase as compared to ₹65 crore in the subsequent quarter.

During FY25, the company completed its initial public offering (IPO), comprising a fresh issuance of 92,63,29,669 equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each. These shares were offered at an issue price of ₹108 per share, which included 8,720,910 equity shares issued to eligible employees at a discounted rate of ₹103 per share.

The IPO raised a total of ₹10,000 crore, and the company's equity shares were subsequently listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on November 27, 2024.

The company has also taken leasehold land for 33 years for the development of a green hydrogen hub in Andhra Pradesh.

NGEL is an umbrella company for the green business initiatives of NTPC and undertakes projects through organic and inorganic routes and aims to be the flag-bearer of NTPC's green energy journey to achieve the ambitious target of 60 GW by FY32.
