Shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) rallied up to 2.71% to hit an intraday high of ₹3614.95 apiece on the NSE on Thursday, July 25, after the company reported healthy results for the quarter ending June 2024.

L&T filed its financial results for Q1FY25 with the stock exchanges on July 24.

The company’s revenue from operations surged 15% to ₹55,119.82 crore in Q1FY25 compared to ₹47,882.37 crore in Q1FY24. The diversified construction and engineering giant’s net profit increased over 10% to ₹3,440.11 crore on a YoY basis in the June quarter of FY25 from ₹3116.12 crore in the year-ago period.

However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis (QoQ) the civil construction firm’s revenue from operations declined nearly 18% in Q1FY25 from ₹67,078.68 crore in Q4FY24. The company’s net profit also dropped 31% in the June quarter of FY25 QoQ from ₹5,003.54 crore in the March quarter of FY24.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 15% to ₹5,620 crore in Q1FY25 compared to ₹4,870 crore in Q1FY24.

The company informed the bourses that during the quarter it received orders across multiple segments like its offshore vertical of hydrocarbon business, renewables, transmission and distribution, roads, nuclear power, hydel and tunnel and other businesses. The company also bagged international orders worth ₹32,598 crore during the quarter.

The consolidated order book of the L&T Group as on June 30, 2024, stood at ₹ 490,881 crore achieving a growth of 3% over the March quarter of FY24 and 19% over the June quarter of FY24.

Larsen & Toubro Limited, a diversified civil construction and engineering company, is engaged in construction of buildings and factories, transport infrastructure, heavy civil infrastructure, smart world and communication, water and renewable energy, and power transmission.

Shares of L&T closed 2.91% higher at ₹3,622 apiece on the NSE.
