JSW Energy Q4 results: Shares hit 5% upper circuit as Q4 net profit jumps 22% YoY, dividend of ₹2 per share declared

JSW Energy Ltd on Tuesday, May 7, reported a healthy growth in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2024. The company’s revenue from operations also increased marginally in Q4FY 24.

In its earnings report for the quarter and full financial year ended March 31, 2024, released after the market hours on Tuesday, the company reported a 3% year-on-year rise in consolidated revenue from operations to ₹2,755.87 crore. The company’s revenue from operations was ₹2,669.97 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY23.

The power generation and transmission firm reported a 22% YoY growth in consolidated net profit at ₹345.27 crore in Q4FY24 compared to ₹282.03 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY23.

Following the result announcement, JSW Energy shares were locked in 5% upper circuit, with a day high of ₹617.9 per share.

JSW Energy’s revenue from operations grew by 8% quarter-on quarter to ₹2,755.87, increasing from ₹2,542.77 in the previous quarter of FY24. JSW Energy’s net profit grew by 48% sequentially to ₹345.27 crore from ₹232.24 crore in the quarter ended December 2023.

The power sector company’s revenue from operations for the full fiscal year FY24 grew by 11% to ₹11.485.91 crore year-on-year from ₹10.331.81 crore in FY23. JSW Energy’s net profit increased more than 11% to ₹2,166.91 crore from ₹1,942.84 crore YoY in FY23.

JSW Energy also announced a 20% dividend payout for FY24, which translates to a dividend of ₹2 per share of a face value ₹10 each.

The dividend payout is subject to approval at the forthcoming 30th Annual General Meeting, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
